A retired couple, Subang Jaya — Reorganisation Programme
Challenge
A couple in their late sixties had accumulated documents across three decades: property purchase papers, vehicle documents, multiple insurance policies, EPF statements, and various bank letters. Documents were distributed across four rooms, two filing cabinets, and a set of cardboard boxes that had not been opened since 2017. Their daughter, who lived abroad, had no way of knowing where anything was.
What Goldside did
Over four visits, a full household inventory was built. Documents were sorted into categories, a consistent labelling convention agreed, and folders prepared and filled. A family-reference binder was constructed with cross-referenced entries. The final handbook included a plain-language guide to the index and a note on where to find each category. The pace was set by the couple — one visit was postponed and rescheduled without issue.
Outcome
The daughter received a copy of the handbook on her next visit to Malaysia. She described it as the first time she felt confident she knew what was where. The couple has since moved to a quarterly review schedule to keep the index current. The reorganisation programme was completed across five weeks.

Challenge
An individual approaching retirement had maintained a rough filing system through working life, but new documents arriving after retirement — correspondence from EPF, updated insurance policies, property management letters — were being placed on a desk pile that had grown over the course of a year. The existing filing logic no longer matched what was actually arriving.
What Goldside did
A single index session was held first to establish a clean, updated baseline. The old files were reviewed, outdated categories removed, and the index rebuilt to reflect the post-retirement document landscape. A quarterly review was then set up to catch new arrivals each quarter and keep the index current without requiring another full rebuild.
Outcome
After three quarterly reviews, the client reported that new documents were being filed the same day they arrived — because the index made clear where they belonged. The desk pile had not recurred. The index session took 90 minutes; each quarterly review since has taken under an hour.
